India Income Tax Refund Status

Good news for all the tax payers in India.

If you have submitted your Income Tax Returns and you are expecting a refund from the Income Tax Department, please check this link for verifying if your refund has been processed. All you need enter your Permanent Account Number and Assessment Year for which status of refund is to be tracked.

If your Tax Circle is computerized, you will see your records here else you will need to contact your Chartered Accountant (who helped you in filing your return) or the Assessing Officer (who verified your Income Tax Return).

In my past experience, I have seen that if the Tax Circle is offline (not yet connected to the Online System of NSDL), you will get a check for the refund amount.
